February 2023 – I have two marathons challenge in Barcelona and London to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

November 2022 – Our lab moved to the Barts Cancer Institute.
August 2022 – Extremely happy to receive a CRUK Career Development Fellowship. We will receive six years of support to study the oncogenic roles of transposons in acute myeloid leukaemia.
August 2022 – We said goodbye to Ana and Nicola.

June 2022 – Deniz lab was awarded our first recruitment grant from the European Hematology Association. I received this prestigious award in person in Vienna.

May 2022 – Ana from the University of Santiago de Compostela starts in the lab as a visiting PhD student.
April 2022 – I ran my first half marathon at Kew Gardens to raise funds for cancer research.

March 2022 – Nicola starts her MSc project in the lab
December 2021 – Asja and Ziqing join the lab as MRes students.
July 2021 – Our proposal on the roles of transposons in chromatin organisation was selected for EASI-Genomics Transnational and Extraordinary Access Calls.
March 2021 – First MSc student Kamela joins the lab.
January 2021– Deniz lab officially launches at Imperial with the support of Imperial College London and AstraZeneca.
